However, the recent TMNT collaboration for MW2 can be said to open the door to these kinds of crossovers, which may soon become a dominant factor of Call of Duty's offered multiplayer experience. This means that the Modern Warfare 2 has still not entered the same territory as the likes of Fortnite, with the eccentricity of these titles allowing for crossovers that see characters such as Naruto and Master Chief be added without raising too much attention. Of course, including Shredder as a playable operator also ties in to the Japanese theme of MW2 and Warzone 2's Season 2, with Shredder often being depicted as the Japanese-born Oroku Saki, who wears traditional Japanese armor. It must be said that the TMNT bundle for Modern Warfare 2 still works to maintain a semblance of the realism that the recent Modern Warfare reboot prides itself on, with Shredder offering a much more inconspicuous battlefield appearance when compared to the likes of Leonardo and Donatello.
Going off of the usual trend of MW2 bundles, it is likely that the Shredder bundle will also include relevantly themed weapon blueprints, emblems, and calling cards that purchasing players can use. It is highly likely that this bundle will make Shredder a playable in-game operator for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, although the finer details of the bundle such as its name and other included items are currently unknown. Promotional footage for the upcoming bundle clearly indicates that the character of Shredder is the main focus, with Shredder being the primary antagonist of the TMNT franchise. Given the wacky history behind CoD's collaboration events as well as those of the wider shooter genre, many fans may think that the TMNT crossover allows players to embody the half-shell fighters themselves, although the crossover takes a different approach.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Bundle is set to arrive on March 21, coming in close proximity to the title's recently released Season 2 Reloaded.
